Dr. Mandrakeseeker was mapping the BL’s migration route. It seems to have traveled out west to collect this data- to Yosemite National Park. Lucky for us, it’s not the 1970s so we don’t have to go all the way to California to explore the park. We can use their website and recreate the beast’s movement patterns!”

Tech Advice

If you’re having trouble with the Virtual Yosemite website:

  • If you don’t see the “portals” then make sure to turn on the “Show / Hide Links” button in the bottom right.
  • If you leave a scene sitting for too long, it may move onto another random scene. Refresh the page to go back to the scene you were on.
  • You can use the mouse and/or bottom controls to move 360 around each scene and to zoom in and out. You’ll need to zoom in for certain scenes.

Hint 1

Start at the Half Dome summit in Virtual Yosemite. Do you see the first pictured scene there? (Keep in mind you may need to zoom in, and the coloring won't exactly match that of the old photo.)

Hint 2

Align the scene on the Yosemite website with the photograph in the ASPMC notebook. You should see a single "portal" in the field of view. Then use the 5x5 grid on the ASPMC notebook page to get a letter.

Hint 3 (checkpoint)

You'll find one letter per photograph, leading to a 10-letter word: INTERNPOUR. One step left.

Hint 4

The "NP" in INTERNPOUR stands for ... something. What is it? You’ve already seen this two-letter abbreviation earlier in the puzzle. You might even see it on the page or in the Yosemite website.

Hint 5

NP is often an abbreviation for National Park. Expand this abbreviation into its full meaning to get the final two-word answer.

FINAL ANSWER (SPOILER!)

The answer is INTERNATIONAL PARKOUR.
